Ashley Spicer has been involved in dance for the past 20 years. Her love and passion for this beautiful art form has helped her to give the gift of dance to others, teaching toddler through adults all forms of movement. While allowing them to express themselves and be creative at the same time, they are finding the motivation to stay healthy and have fun and that is her inspiration to teach. She began her formal training at Branchville Dance Center, Generations of Dance continuing on to Star Dance Academy under the teaching of Nanci Cruz Coe. Also studying Polynesian & Tahitian with Makalina located in NYC. Ashley's strong involvement in cheerleading stirred up her passion for dance and she was captivated. A 2002 State Champion Cheerleader, competing in Disney's World Wide of Sports and continuing her knowledge with her own All Star Cheer Team in which she coached and choreographed in 2005-2006-2007, they went on to also become National Winners. She is proficient in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Ballet, Salsa, Hawaiian, Tahitian, Gymnastics, Pole Fitness & Cheerleading. Some of her work includes choreographing the musical Grease, Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast. Ashley was a lead dancer and Choreographer for Slave Hall of Fame Benefit Concert for Hurricane Katrina performing at 'The City' in NYC. Ashley appears in Sinque Grier's music Video, She has also worked regularly as a Hawaiian & Tahitian Dancer at Waikiki Wally's NYC, as well as performing at the What's Next Concert in NYC; as she won a spot at the concert to backup dance for Sean Paul/Justin Timberlake. Appearing as an extra on the WB's Dawson's Creek and Christina Agulara's stripped in NYC. Ashley has also received many awards and acknowledgement for both her dance and teaching. Certified Instructor through Acrobatic Arts. Receiving High Golds at Star Bound and Dance Arts Plus Competitions. She is a Miss NJ USA Finalist. Winner of the NJ State and Talent Showcase and Competiting in FOX'S Hit Show 'SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE' which aired May 2008. Making it to the top 3% out of 1400 people in Washington DC, has only made Ashley more determined to perform and continuing her education of dance. Ashley is very enthused to share her knowledge with others, and hopes you too will find a place for dance in your life. |
